I feel so happy anytime I have the opportunity to support people. Do you feel that way too? I don’t know how to explain this but there is this sense of fulfilment and joy. Take this with you from me, Wode Maya, anytime you find yourself in a space that requires you to support others, do not relent. I repent do not relent. It doesn’t have to be anything big. Just a little act of kindness and trust me it goes a long way. Can we all do this? Walking down the memory lane, two months ago I visited the Volta Region of Ghana and all I wanted to do was explore and show the beauty of this region to the world. If you haven’t watched those videos, click the link to watch the video and come along with me. In as much I only wanted to explore, I decided to interview entrepreneurs as well so they can share their inspiring journeys with the world and that is how I found Garment Technology Centre.
The CEO of Garment Technology Centre, Madam Monica Amegashie-Viglo was trained locally in Ghana and she decided to use her empowerment to train about 250 other young women. Isn’t that incredible? Isn’t that inspiring enough. Listen, I declared this year as a year of Charity and so at the least thing, I am reminded of the goal I have to achieve before the year ends. Well, some people might think that I do this just for the cameras but I believe that we all want to change the world and that is why I have started in my own small way to serve as an inspiration to you all so why don’t you pick up this challenge as well. While interviewing this woman, one of the things she said that broke my heart was that sometimes, she has to turn a number of ladies away because of unavailability of equipment more especially the sewing machine for their final practical work. The year of charity, right? I decided to give her 5 new set of sewing machines to help train 5 more students and more. It’d interest you to know that when I said, I didn’t even have a dollar on me but I was determined to do this mainly because I felt inclined to support Garment Technology Centre.
So yes, I am back again to the Volta Region of Ghana and this time around, I am honouring my word by presenting 5 sewing machines to Garment Technology Centre.
